taking care of the words ...
... leaving you to take care of the business

Bad spelling hurts business
Bad design, poor grammar and atrocious spelling could be costing UK businesses a staggering £41 billion in lost sales, a survey* commissioned by Royal Mail has found.

Nearly three-quarters of all customers said they wouldn't trust businesses that used poor spelling or grammar, whilst almost a third said they wouldn't buy any product or service from them.

Focus on the message, or the structure?
In print or on screen, it can take just a single word out of place to distract the reader's attention away from the point of the message, to focus instead on the structure of the sentence.

Grammatical or typographical errors are almost certain to divert the reader away from the persuasion of your message.

What is the cost of finding an error after sign-off?
It could mean having to scrap an entire print run and pay for it again; it might be the hidden expense of turning away new customers.

Checking your own words is the least-reliable way to prevent errors. When you are familiar with the content, you "see" what you expect, rather than what is actually printed or displayed.

Having your words checked independently helps to remove that uncertainty, provides an "outsider's" view, and is a cost-efficient way of managing your words.

Are you using words to best effect?
Proofreading is not just about correcting spelling and punctuation mistakes. It is also about making sure that words are used correctly and effectively. In the commercial world, it can be a critical tool to help businesses protect their reputation, and avoid losing new sales.

I will make sure your words will be understood, and your intended message conveyed clearly and consistently, without any flaw in presentation that may distract the reader to the structure of the sentence, rather than what it is saying.
